Richard VE2DX, always was an avid ICOM user, after Yeasu FT101E, Drake TR4Cw he always admired the ICOM 701 and 211... Richard ended up in the early '90s with ICOM 735 with PS50 and AT150 and the love was immediate, this was followed by an ICOM 736, ICOM 706, ICOM 821, ICOM 746Pro, ICOM 756ProIII, ICOM 7300, ICOM 706MkII and finally ICOM 9700.
Always interested in Ham Radio and communication protocols and electronics, Richard is an avid lover of Ham protocols like DCU, GS232A/B, Easycom I, and CI-V.
Richard and Rene DF9GR created the GS232A/B- Dual Azimuth protocols for Rotor controllers, offering the possibility to use a Rotor controller on two different azimuth rotor.
Richard has also been involved in Beta testing software and Hardware for different Ham companies for many years.
Following his career in international technical support for a major international service company and working for the Canadian Government as a project manager, he retired in September 2019 and decided to create VE2DX Electronics to help offer to fellow HAMs worldwide simple useful products for ICOM and other manufacturers to help them in the shack.
